Where We Meet

Makom Shelanu meets at many different spaces. Sometimes we meet at First Congregational Church. Sometimes we meet at Beth-El Congregation.  Sometimes we gather in people's homes. We are grateful to work in spaces that share the same passion for valuing all people. No matter where we are, you can expect to see welcoming signage and know that all people are welcome.

When We Meet

Makom Shelanu currently meets once a month(ish) for Shabbat services. You can expect the service to last approximately two hours. Friday night services often include dinner and Shabbat morning services are usually followed by a light lunch.
Please check the monthly calendar for dates and times.

What to Expect

You can expect to be greeted and embraced by a friendly community seeking to include people of all backgrounds. Whether this is your first time in a Jewish prayer space or one of many, you are welcome here.

Makom Shelanu is a fully egalitarian community.

While unaffiliated, our congregation has a Reform mindset with a more traditional service.

You can expect to find the major aspects of a Shabbat service present, with an emphasis placed on liturgy in Hebrew accompanied by interpretive readings in English. You will hear (and sing!) music both modern and familiar that allows you to be immersed in some of the ancient sounds of our liturgy while also celebrating the tradition of Jewish music that extends into the present day.
